Shared IP

What is a Shared IP?

A shared IP permits multiple senders to use of the same IP address for their emailing campaigns. It is less costly for the marketer than a dedicated IP address. Additionally a shared IP is advantageous because the reputation of the IP address is a primary factor the mailbox provider uses to determine if the emails are processed, blocked, or marked as “spam.” The addresses are particularly beneficial for low-volume senders or seasonal mailers. It does not require establishing a history / reputation with mailbox providers or to activate a dedicated IP address every year.
