What is Read or Open Length?

Read or open length refers to the length of time from when an individual initially opens an email until they close it. The subject line content impacts if the email is even opened. (Approx. 65% of people say they open emails based on what is in the subject line). To help ensure emails are opened, keep subject lines under 50 characters. To help ensure emails are read, keep the content clear, concise, and interesting. The content must be compelling enough to keep the reader’s interest as well as provoke the desired action.
