What is Opt-Out (Unsubscribe)?

To Opt-Out, or unsubscribe, includes several methods individuals and customers may use to cease receiving unsolicited product / service information through direct marketing, email marketing, direct mail, or telemarketing. For example, if a current subscriber decides they do not wish to receive email communications from the business/sender anymore, they may request to be removed from the business’ email list. Businesses are legally required (US Federal regulation) to provide a simple unsubscribe process in every email. The business has 10 business days after receiving the opt-out request to stop sending the unsolicited communications to the individual.
