What is a Lead Database?
A lead database is an organized collection of consumer buying patterns and histories stored in a computer system with the intent it may be quickly retrieved to provide marketing information. Lead databases contain acquired information about customer preferences or purchasing disposition from store receipts, credit card purchases, mail orders, inquiries and requests for information, and other product purchasing habits and activities. Lead databases are used to determine the target segment / market. Marketers use them during new product promotions, repeat sales, or cross selling when multiple products will be promoted to target segments.
