False Positive
What is a False Positive?
A false positive occurs when a spam / email filtering system blocks the delivery of a “legitimate” email the recipient has opted to receive. Reducing false positives regarding automated notifications, commercial mass mailings, and direct (opt-in) marketing messages is difficult for email recognition / filtering technologies because the mass mail systems cannot verify legitimate addresses from non-subscribers. Critical false positives are the blocking of email messages that are purchase confirmations, notifications, and other transactional emails that not mass mailings.
