What is Double Opt-In?

Double Opt-In requires subscribers click a confirmation email link, confirm their choice to receive email solicitations and communications in some email manner. Double opt-in requests the subscriber agrees to accept email marketing by 1) clearly requesting it, and 2) confirming the email address they provide is valid by responding to a “confirmation email” sent to their stated email address. This method helps ensure the subscriber agrees to receive communications, reducing the likelihood an unauthorized individual might submit another’s email address.
