Blacklist

What is Blacklist?

A blacklist is a listing of IP addresses identified as spammer IPs. As a result, delivery of the particular email from this origin is blocked. The blacklist serves as a collector of URLs, IP addresses, or email addresses that are flagged as having been generated by a known spam source. Email traffic is filtered using a blacklist as a spam removal tool. Example: A service provider makes their service available to a spammer. The provider is informed and warned by list administrators of the spammer’s activities. The provider must take the appropriate action to curtail the spammer’s activities or risk all email traffic being blocked. The legitimate users are equally impacted and collectively voice their anger which compels the provider to take necessary action against the spammer.
